Salsata and Nabi Safa: an agricultural and archaeological site
Salsata and Nabi Safa form a locality within the municipality of Kfar Mishki in Rashaya District, about 13 km west of Rashaya and approximately 1,150 metres above sea level. The surrounding landscape includes agricultural land, olive trees and vineyards.
Nabi Safa contains the remains of a Roman-period temple associated with the temples of Mount Hermon. The site forms part of “Sacred Mount Hermon and its associated cultural monuments,” included on Lebanon’s UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. Parts of the temple’s northern wall and lower chambers remain visible.
