Sheikh Haidar Abdul Ghani Thuraya was born in Kherbet Rouha in Rashaya District in 1970. He began studying Islamic sciences at an early stage and graduated from Al-Fath Islamic Institute in Damascus in 1990. He then continued his studies at Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Arabic Language, receiving his degree in 1995.
He continued to pursue academic development and prepare for postgraduate study alongside his religious and outreach work.
In 2021, he was appointed imam and Friday preacher in Kherbet Rouha, a responsibility he continues to fulfil. He also works in the Fatwa Office of Dar Al-Fatwa in Rashaya, contributing to religious guidance and services in the area.
